Samsung Gear Live
Samsung like to give you a choice. They have a bewildering array of smartphones and tablets, and now they have two distinct lines of smartwatches to choose from - the Android Wear-based Samsung Gear Live and the Tizen-based Samsung Gear 2 range.
The Gear Live is very similar in specification to the camera-less Gear 2 Neo. It comes with a 1.63" 320 x 320 pixel SuperAMOLED display, a 1.2 GHz processor with 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, Bluetooth 4.0 low energy plus a accelerometer, compass, gyroscope and heart-rate monitor. It should work with almost any smartphone running Android 4.3 or later.
The Gear Live has a 300 mAh battery, weighs 59 grams and measures 38 x 56 x 8.9mm. The Gear Live is dust and water resistant to IP 67 standards. The specification is a little higher than the LG G Watch, and this is reflected in the price of around £169 / $199 / €210. The Gear Live should start shipping from early July and is available from the Google Play store.
