LG G Watch
We first got a glimpse of the Android Wear based LG G Watch back in March, and now the G Watch is available to order and we have a detailed view of the full specifications.
It's quite a modestly specified device compared to a smartphone with a 1.2 GHz processor with 512MB of RAM, 1.65" 280 x 280 pixel screen, 400 mAh battery, 4GB of storage, Bluetooth 4.0 low energy and a 9 axis accelerometer, compass and gyro. The G Watch weighs 63 grams and measures 38 x 47 x 10mm.
The LG G Watch is designed to work with any smartphone running Android 4.3 or above, and many of the actions are voice-controlled by saying "OK Google". Surprisingly the LCD display is always on, which is handy for use as a watch but we should imagine does shorten the battery life a lot. You can charge the LG G Watch through a USB "Pogo Pin" or by using the cradle supplied as standard. The G Watch meets IP67 standards against dust and water ingress.
Available in the Google Play Store, the LG G Watch should start shipping in early July for around £159 / $229 / €200 or so.
